Baking Muffins!

"Tahi Rua" Toru Fa,  "Come on class sit down and get ready for prayer we have a really exciting day ahead of us girls Since there is only 14 of us here today I thought that we should bake muffins!" said Ms Barton.
We were really excited to bake... and plus it was my first time making Chocolate Chip Muffins.

Me and Kennedy got into buddies and ms Barton gave us worksheets to glue into our books. Then we went down to the hall kitchen to do our cooking and there were bowls for each partner to do their cooking in.

Kennedy and I were the ones right at the back and it was all going well... Until me and Kennedy didn't read the instructions properly and didn't put them in separate bowls. But still Our mUffins tasted DELICIOUS!

P.S We had to share our muffins with the netball girls. :)

Cross country

"3,2,1" as soon as that horn blew my ears started shaking... what I meant was that my legs were shaking. I ran as fast as I could all the way until as I was exhausted. Within minutes I was already huffing and puffing and gasping for air.
All those girls were overlapping me as I was just trotting along like a little girl.

I was on my third lap thinking if I should just walk or if I should run all the way to the Finish line. I didn't want to let my whanau house down, so I ran. As I ran past the hill bank I could hear all those people saying, "come on, you can do this, keep going," so I listened to them and pushed myself to the limit.

You know in those stories how you have the little angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other shoulder... yeah that was me! With the angel saying" You can do this!" while on the other shoulder the little devil said" Just give up already" so I flicked the Little devil away and listened to the Angel.

And with that advice from the Angel I came 8th right behind Selina and Taupiri Even though I didn't come in between 6th place and 1st place so I could go to inter schools I was pretty alright with my place:)

Immersion with Miss Mules

"Get out your inquiry, book we'er going to do some science today but in room 11. Today we'er going to look and the parts of a plant" said Miss Mules,
everyone moved sluggishly...

We looked at this worksheet on the projector it had the names to the body parts of the plant. Did you know that a plant has a female and male parts!

First we colored in this beautiful flower.

The things got interesting she pulled out a bag of twisties and said that there was some lollies in there.
The activity was that we were bees that were going to pollute some plants and you know when you eat the twisties your fingers get crumbs on it you sprinkle those crumbs onto someone else's flower so that we get the idea of how the bees job works.

The best part was eating the lolly. It was really fun!

Thank you Miss Mules!

Immersion with room 17!

"YES! last class for immersion this better be good, not in a bad way, Mrs Chandra.  What are we going to learn about next? Carbon Footprints... Carbon what?" Obviously I didn't know what that was but I was definitely going to learn something today.

So we watched a little clip because we didn't know that much about Carbon Footprints, and then we had to log on to our drive because their was something that we had to go on to get some more information about our topic.

So my group all did a brainstorm about our topic & we had quite a lot of ideas, from those videos that we viewed so we learned quite a lot throughout that lesson.

Thank you Mrs Chandra

P.S Everybody and everything that you own has a Carbon Footprint

Immersion with room 16

"Water? why are we going to learn about water? like there's anything I don't know about water" But when we reached room 16 I knew that I was going to learn so much.

First Mr Meikle numbered us 1-4. we tested out 4 bottled water there were 4 bottles with A on it and the other 4 had a B on it we tested it out & my group thought bottle B was tap water.

Second,we had to watch some videos & then Mr Meikle gave us blue-tack, some pictures & a black piece of paper that we had to put in order. Mr Meikle gave us the first picture so we all got it right, and for the rest of the puzzle my group got it all correct...well I think we did.

I thought it was really interesting until we had to go. This class was really fun.

P.s. Bottled water is really bad for you. Drink tap water instead it is better for you.

Immersion with Room 15

"Ewww YUCKY" We all said of course we were going  to learn something disgusting and it was pests I knew that this was going to be interesting, but there was a slight silence... and then the noise carried on.

We learned that some sort of pests are:
  • Possums
  • Stoat
  • Rabbits
  • Rats
Those were all the 'animals' that were really a pest so we talked a lot about that and then... things started to get exciting Miss said "Lets go out and play a little game called possum picnic shall we?" then we all raced onto the courts

Once the game ended we all sighed some of the girls even said" Can we play again?" but then miss said " I have one last thing to show" We all were clueless and thinking what are we going to do next.
Then Miss said I have a Possum Trap to show you all then we all went outside to see how the trap works.
First: you put the trap next to a tree
second: you put an apple with cinnamon on top and then put it inside
Next: You Pull the trigger to make the trap go off
Finally: you wait until the possum comes in the morning and then you put it in the rubbish.

The End!!

Immersion with rm 14

It was our first immersion lesson for 2015 I went into room 14 feeling really excited for our first immersion lesson. When  room 11 were all seated Miss Chaney said that our lesson will be about the life cycle of a plant! So we split up into 6 groups of 4.

We were going to plant some Mustard seeds into a egg container, first Piuela put the soil in, second Naydiya put the seeds into the container next, Kennedy put some more soil on top of the seeds, and Finally I watered the plants and put the egg container in the sun.
I really enjoyed this first immersion class it was really FUN!
